Nils-Robert Persson, the chairman of Cinnober Financial Technology for many years, has been nominated for the annual Guldklubban award, as a candidate from the Stockholm region. The nomination pertains to unlisted companies.
The Guldklubban (Golden Gavel) is an award for meritorious chairmanship that was established in 2005 by Deloitte and StyrelseAkademien. Awards are granted each year in two classes — one for listed and one for unlisted companies — to recipients who have set good examples for executing the role of chairman in practice.
“It is of course a great honor to be mentioned in this nomination,” comments Nils-Robert Persson. “The chairman’s role in a company, whether listed or not, is naturally important, even if board work as well as corporate management, are generally regarded as team efforts.”
Persson has been involved in Cinnober’s board, mostly as chairman, since the end of the 1990s. He is a recognized name in financial circles both in Sweden and abroad, and has contributed greatly to putting the Swedish technology company on the map.
“Cinnober is extremely proud of Nils-Robert’s nomination,” says CEO Veronica Augustsson. “Having his name being put forward for this award is very inspiring and sends positive signals through the whole organization.”
Cinnober, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year, is a world-leading innovative supplier of financial technology to marketplaces and clearinghouses. Customers are large global actors with extreme demands on reliability and performance, including BM&FBOVESPA, Deutsche Börse, Dubai Gold & Commodities Exchange, London Metal Exchange, LME Clear, MarkitSERV and Stock Exchange of Thailand.
The winners of the 2013 Guldklubban award will be presented at a national event at the Grand Hôtel in Stockholm on December 5.
The nomination process is managed by the Guldklubban Foundation, which has the mission of “clarifying and increasing awareness of the board chairman’s important role… by organizing the presentation of this annual award” and “otherwise highlighting and bringing recognition to good examples of executing the role of chairman in practice.”
