Our next session will be on Wednesday, November 14. This time we are honored with a visit by Randolf Roth, Head of Market Structure at Eurex. The topic of the day is High Frequency Trading and the following questions will be explored:
- Why is speed so important?
- Does HFT cause volatility?
- Does HFT only provide good weather liquidity?
Randolf Roth has a PhD in Financial Engineering from the University of Technology in Dresden.
He joined Deutsche Börse Group in 1999 as a Key Account Manager in their London office.
In 2000 he moved to Chicago for Eurex, where the company jointly implemented with the Chicago Board Of Trade the CBOT’s first fully electronic trad¬ing system. Thereafter he continued to work for Eurex in Chicago, heading a number of business develop¬ment projects.
In 2004 he moved to the Deutsche Börse/Eurex head office in Frankfurt, where he currently serves Eurex as Executive Director, Head of Market Structure.
Randolf Roth is also a Non-Executive Board Member of the European Energy Exchange (EEX) in Leipzig.
